A decorated Italian veteran, Carlo was left with over 24 medical conditions following exposure to depleted Uranium. Continuing a daily battle including injections, hyperbaric treatment and plasmapheresis, Carlo has defied the odds to develop an incredible athletic career celebrating victories in the Invictus Games, 8 Gold medals at the World Company Sports Games and participation in the World Paralympics Championships. He continues to inspire those around him with his fortitude, mental strength and unbreakable spirit and courage.
